The race to preserve our wildlife has never been urgent. Everyday we see in nature shows rare animals that are slowly hunted to extinction by humans. The sad fact is, even though we know this is happening there are still poachers out there who hunt these animals. On our end, some of the wealthy people patronize this hunting by purchasing these endangered animals. Aside from poaching, constant deforestation is also one of the causes our
wildlife is slowly depleting. We are slowly destroying their habitat. We are destroying where they live and they are forced to live in the open. Unfortunately, most of them cannot adopt and they eventually die.

But why do we have to save our wildlife? For some wildlife conservation is seen only as a fad or something for the eyes since we will eventually be taking over the land. It’s quite unfortunate for the next generation that they won’t see these animals alive but it’s a fact that we have to live somewhere. Humans are growing in numbers and slowly we are creeping in to land that used to be for the wildlife alone.

That view may have a point but if you take a look at it deeper, our world needs to preserve our wildlife more than ever. Although we don’t have enough spaces to stay because of the growing population, we have to conserve what’s left of nature. One obvious reason for this is the conservation of balance of nature. Before we even walked in this earth, the world is already preserving itself through climate changes, plants and animals. For thousands of years, the earth is preserved as it is and nature was flourishing. But when man started creeping in and making adjustments to nature, things did change. We are now cutting trees and driving away animals from their natural habitat. We are disturbing the balance of nature. Nature is a life cycle and anything disturbing it will solicit a reaction from nature. In reaction nature eventually adjusts itself to preserve its cycle. The “adjustments” are unfortunately catastrophic. Since we are cutting down trees and emitting so much carbon into the atmosphere, we are heating the earth really fast. To cool the earth down, nature has answered with devastating storms and hurricanes.

Earth has to preserve herself for our own good even in the face of human intervention. For example, we humans are emitting too much carbon that we have been one of the causes of global warming. Although there are persons who are out there who wants to disprove this theory, the earth is getting hotter is a fact. The ices in the arctic area are melting and the water level in cities is rising. If we don’t do something about it, some cities in the world might actually be under water. It’s a catastrophe waiting to happen if we’re not careful with the preservation of our environment.

That is why we have to preserve the balance of nature. Wildlife conservation is part of that balance. With wildlife conservation, we are able to preserve the animal’s habitat. In return our way of life is also preserve because nature is still in its balance. So every time we see endangered species saved from extinction we are also saving nature and ourselves at the same time.
