We need energy everyday. Without energy, we cannot cook fast; we can’t go from one place to another, we can’t watch TV and you can’t even read this article. It’s a necessity for a society’s development and it doesn’t decrease in anytime. The demand just kept on increasing. That’s why energy is very expensive: our demand for fuel is far greater than the available fuel that we can use. Not only in fuel for our cars that we have to spend our money
with, but we also have to pay for our electric bills and gas. Most people resort to simple usage of electricity but limiting our use of electricity will just mean limiting our usage of power.
In our quest to look for energy that’s almost free, we didn’t look down but instead we looked up – to the sun. The sun is known from ages to pack power that will last any home for a very long time. Since 18th century solar power has been used but the scientific explanation for capturing the heat of the sun and convert them to energy was laid out during the 19th century. Now we may be able to harness the power of the sun and use them to power almost anything that runs in electricity in our homes.
To capture the heat of the sun, solar panels are required to capture the heat. These solar panels have solar cells have the ability to absorb the heat from the sun. The power could either be implemented to the appliances immediately or to be stored for nightfall. Common practice is most of the solar panels can absorb energy and apply them to the appliances plus store some of them for night use. The process sounds really simple but it’s a combination of ingenuity especially with the creation of the solar cells.
Solar power as an alternative source of energy may be great but it has also has its fair share of limitations. Obviously it’s not going to work at night and during the bad weather when the sun is not shining really brightly. If you’re living in a place that doesn’t have that much heat, it’s not going to work either. That’s why solar powers are usually recommended for places that has constant brightness and heat of the sun such as Africa. The southern part of USA is also a great place to set up the solar panels.
But the great benefit of a solar powered home is savings. Instead of paying your monthly electric bill, all you need to pay are the things that will be installed and the fee for installation. If you have a bigger home, you might want to pay larger. You are also, of course, helping the environment and the worldwide community in its goal of reducing the use of fuel for electricity. Instead of using energy that will not be reused, expensive and could destroy mother earth; we have to consider using a better alternative that’s earth friendly and free.
