Natural Gas is one of the world’s foremost resources of energy. In its raw state, the natural gas is odorless, colorless and will not cause any harm. However, natural gasses are highly combustible and when properly processed it can be practically used to any type of energy need in the world. Whether it’s about the energy to give homes the ability to cook, the ability to give electricity and the ability to give energy to cars, these things can be done
using the natural gas if processed the right way.
Natural gas can be used in different venues since natural gas is a combination of different types of fuel. Methane has the highest concentration in natural gasses. Methane is used for electrical generation. Companies that generate electricity uses methane as a fuel for boilers and turbines. Methane could also be used as a gas for cooking.
Aside from methane, natural gas also has propane, carbon dioxide, ethane, butane, helium, nitrogen and hydrogen. Because of these contents, Natural gas can practically be used to any type of energy need.
The concern with natural gasses however, is that it can be only located in certain parts of the globe. United States is number four on the list in terms of natural gas reserves but they are being used really fast. Russia on the other hand, is almost an untapped source of this type of energy. The only answer for this then is to transfer the natural gas using pipes but natural gases are notorious in this stage. Natural gas can’t just be transferred from to another place. Usually the natural gas source and the intended users are close to one another. If it goes farther it will then have to use a specialized gas line. This has been the subject for political struggle in some countries since a pipeline has to cross several countries.
The good thing about natural gasses is its safety. As we have already indicated, in its purest form its safe, odorless and colorless. Being combustible is not a problem for different countries since it can be controlled with technology.
But aside from natural gas that comes from oil fields and natural gas fields, there are other natural gas generators. Animal dung can be fermented and with proper technology it could also be used as an electric generator to several homes. Garbage is also a viable source of natural gas. There are equipments being sold online to generate methane gas and transform them into electric energy. It has already saved thousands of dollars in rural areas who can’t easily access electricity. They are able to use cow or pig dung and store them to be processed. Eventually it can add fuel to generate electricity and gas pipes to let them cook their food.
The idea of generating natural gas should not be applied only to natural sources. It will eventually be depleted and it will take thousands of years before it will be replenished. With available resources that we see in our surroundings, all we need is to harness it and reach its full potential.
