nature with their bare hands. We have our daily chores and responsibilities to think about that all we can do is to take care of nature in our little ways.
But we can actually take care of nature in our ways, even in our clothing. You can find it in your local and online stores with the label “natural fiber clothing.” This type of clothing uses only naturally made fibers without any use of chemicals. Even the process of creating the natural fiber clothing is all natural thus the end product is a very natural cloth without any blemish of chemicals.
There is a considerable difference between natural fiber clothing and organic clothing. We can have organic clothing but not naturally fibered but we can never have naturally fibered clothing if they are not organic clothing. Natural fiber clothing is the next step in organic clothing. We can have an organic clothing but not naturally fibered since we can grow organic materials, such as cotton to make a shirt but it will be processed and chemicals will be eventually used. Even though you can have 100% cotton in your shirt, we do not know how much chemicals were placed in it. On the other hand the tag “natural fiber clothing” uses not only organic materials but employs only the chemical free way of creating these cloths. The materials are used as it is in natural organic clothing and created usually with bare hands and simple equipment.
There are three types of natural fibers to choose from: the vegetable fibers, the protein fibers and the strong elastic fiber from silkworms. Each of them has their own properties and durability in terms of the feel that will fit to any clothing need.
There is a need to patronize natural fiber clothing. More than 10,000 people in the US alone die because of the pesticide and chemical exposure. If we use only organic clothing, we might be able to help those in the farms since they will not use pesticides. If we use only natural fiber clothing we can ensure that no pesticides and chemicals were applied to make our clothing.
Aside from disallowing pesticides to inflict diseases to humans, we are also protecting nature. If we apply pesticides to our plants it will eventually run down to the land. A land that’s constantly under the influence of pesticides will be more dependent on pesticides to grow plants, eventually becoming unhealthy for plants because of too many pesticides. If we only purchase natural fiber clothing, we are decreasing the use of pesticides in our earth.
