Nature has been here for million of years before we even started walking in both feet. Without the help of humans nature was able to preserve itself though by the natural life cycle of animals and plants. Food chain is always observed and the natural conditions are always normal. When man walked in these lands we sadly disrupted the natural life cycle of things. We cleared her forests, destroyed the waters and exploited her resources.
Nature has never been the same since we came. Before we know it, there are already thousands of endangered and extinct species. We may be able to make many things but we can’t get back what we have destroyed in nature. For example if we cut down a large tree, we can’t replace it with another tree. We still have to wait for decades before it can go back to its original stature.

Extinction and endangerment by most of the animals are caused by humans. Aside from poaching, we are also destroying the natural habitat of these animals. Nature is always at a balance and any unnatural intrusion will only affect these animals. There will be no more forests and water sheds to live in since everything has been destroyed for the sake of man. We may not accept it, but our development as a people and specie has only destroyed everything around us. The balance is definitely not there as we have destroyed them at will and not because of its natural causes.

We have to be conscious of what we do to nature. That’s why the government and non-government organization has always pushed for land conservation in the face of development. The phrase “land conservation” refers to the preservation of the land as it is. The forests, the watershed, and even the shores should be preserved and leave untouched. We want to see animals free roaming in their own habitat while we are also enjoy development in specific areas.

But it’s not only for the animals that we have to observe land conservation, it’s also affecting us. Remember that we are still part of this great nature and we have to play our part of conserving it. If we don’t conserve the forests, our gas emissions will no longer be controlled. Gas has CFCs – at from destroy our ozone layer. If this will intensify, the ozone layer will eventually be destroyed and nothing will keep us from the scorching heat from the sun. The worldwide phenomenon called the global warming is known to be partly caused by us humans. Although there are scientists who are out there to disprove it, we are emitting so much gas that the earth is getting hotter everyday. Trees and only trees are able to cancel out our carbon emissions. If we continue clearing them, our daily habitat will be destroyed as we know it.

Land conservation is not only for the animals but also for humans as well. We have to do our part to continue the balance of nature or else we will be the once who will be paying the price. Even as little as a hectare conserved in the remote forest in southern America already means so much to us.
