Most of our vehicles run in gasoline. This fuel is extracted from fossil fuels, which takes thousand of years to develop. Countries like Iraq, Iran and Kuwait are rich in this resource. If there’s no turmoil in these countries, they can certainly be one of the richest in the world because of this very important product. Unfortunately, our consumption of fuel is more than what nature can produce and because of that, there’s a looming possibility that one day,
gas will no longer there to make our cars and other types of vehicles run. This projected scarcity is one of the reasons why gas and oil is only getting more expensive.
So that our cars can still run in the future, the run for reusable and sustainable energy source has never been better. Scientists from different countries are coming up with different theories and inventions on how we can conserve energy. At the same time, we are also looking for the next big alternative to fuels. So far, sugarcane is seen as a good alternative. As the source of alcohol, it could be the next big thing. There are other plants which could be used as a power source alternates and each of them looks promising.
Whether promising or not, all of these sources are still not fully implemented. Although in some parts of the globe ethanol is already 1% of the total fuel content, the ultimate end of the plan is to integrate at least10%. Unfortunately, we still need fossil fuels to give our machines more power. Even though we can let the car run in electricity, its power and speed is not the same as the cars powered by gasoline. If you’re in a rural area, you’ll find it hard to have electricity powered cars or trucks cause by today’s standards, we can’t really haul big things using only electricity in our machines.
That’s why hybrid products are pushed by non-government organizations dedicated to make the world greener. Although they acknowledge that gasoline emissions are bad for the environment, our present technology could not maximize electricity or other gasoline alternative’s power to haul and move things like the regular gasoline. Hybrid cars now run with gasoline and electricity. The per-gallon-capacity of hybrid cars is way better compared to other cars. As of this writing, most of the hybrids are only small vehicles and SUVs. The hybrid product is not yet ready for hauling. Even home heating system is not yet ready to maximize the power of the sun. We still wanted to use the heating system and combine them with solar powered heaters.
Hybrid products represent something better and hopeful for all of us. 20 years ago, we can’t even integrate ethanol in our gasoline. We weren’t even thinking of using the sun to give us more heating. It’s always better that we start somewhere than nothing. Technology is getting smarter and helpful and there will come a time that we don’t even have to use a gasoline to haul things and could be used in trucks.
